National flag carrier Air India has raised $500 million (nearly Rs 2,250 crore) from ABN AMRO-led banking consortium to make pre-delivery payment to US-based aircraft manufacturer Boeing Company.
Boeing, as part of the $7.2- billion deal for 68 planes with Air-India, will induct three simulators for pilot training at Air-India premises near Santacruz airport in Mumbai.

Pilots working with Air India have warned of non-co-operation if restoration of pre-Covid overtime allowance is delayed, and if other practices they say are 'discriminatory' continues. "We cannot assure that our members will undertake flying duties exceeding 70 hours a month. Any coercive action by the management will lead to industrial action to safeguard flight safety and well-being of our members," the Indian Commercial Pilots Association and the Indian Pilots Guild said in a joint letter to Air India's management on Tuesday.
The flight, carrying 216 passengers and 16 crew, landed safely, the Tata Group-owned private carrier said in a statement Tuesday evening.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes on Tuesday offered to replace the aircraft leased by Air-India from South Korea with new generation ones at a 'great price' and said Indian Airlines would save over Rs 700 crore (Rs 7 billion) if it bought planes from it.
